If there are any Windows users left out there, rejoice! Microsoft announced it will be giving Windows 10 as a free upgrade to the users of the most recent versions of Windows and Windows Phone in an attempt to bring the operating system back to its former glory, and try and win back some of the PC users who have turned to other operating systems.

Microsoft has been charging for Windows ever since we can remember, and this latest move definitely marks a change in their approach to new tech waves that have certainly smashed all over Microsoft, surpassing it as they went.

Windows has long been one of Microsoft’s golden geese, driving most of its profits, but the company has decided it wants Windows on as many devices as possible, later reclaiming some of the lost revenue by selling options such as Microsoft Office.

Windows 10 is set to be released in the fall of 2015, and it will be available as a one-year free upgrade to the users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.
