It used to be that an electric shaver would do in a pinch if you were on the go, but if you wanted a smooth, kissable face, you reached for a razor and a handful of foam.

Well, things have changed; today’s crop of electric shavers can buzz closer than ever, and that means smooth skin. Electric shavers not only save you time and leave your face bloody cut-free, but also save you money over time as they last years and often reduce or eliminate the need for lathering products.

Better, Faster, Stronger

That’s not all that’s changed: Some of the new electric shavers can be rinsed or may even work in the shower, while others have LED screens that will display how much juice is left.

Rotating heads are de rigueur, as is an unprecedented level of ergonomic joy.

Today’s razors even blur the lines of use, as functionalities of hair and beard trimmers sneak their way into standard electric razors.

There’s no doubt about it: “High tech” doesn’t just mean smartphones and laptops anymore.

Electric shavers are one of the top gadgets for men, and within such a competitive market, come product ads full of marketing jargon that can mask the true quality of the razor.

What To Look For When Shopping

When you shop, you can ignore all the claims that the product will give you ‘The Best Shave Ever’ and instead look for a few basic factors that separate good electric shavers from the best electric shavers.

Closeness is crucial. As a top-level factor, if the electric shaver doesn’t shave close enough you won’t be satisfied.

Remember, you’re buying this product to make your life easier, not add time to your daily route. You also want comfort and convenience. Look for CMA (cycles per minute) and know that what takes you 10 minutes with a manual blade, should take you 2-3 with an electric razor.

Also, don’t buy anything that can give you less than 50 to 60 minutes of cordless shaving with modern models. Durability is also very important.

The longer the electric shaver lasts, the more you can justify the price.
