So far, coffee has been linked to increasing focus, concentration, and reflex speed, while in the past few months we found out that it can also repair our livers. But now, a study finds that coffee can prevent another issue – erectile dysfunction.

Catching The Fast Train

Many of us turn to coffee only for a morning pick-me-up, but for those who are real coffee enthusiasts, these are some great news.

A team of researchers from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston recently discovered that two cups of coffee a day can drastically decrease the risk of erectile dysfunction in men.

The study involved almost 4,000 men from all over U.S. After finding out how much caffeine each of them consumes in 24 hours, the team noticed that those who consumed 85 to 170 milligrams had 42% less chance of erectile dysfunction.

However, men who drank between 171 and 303 milligrams of caffeine per day were only 39% less likely to develop the condition, meaning that there is only a ‘small window’ when it comes to caffeine’s effect on the risk of erectile dysfunction.

From Everyday Drink To Elixir Of Life

Aside from this report, various studies from around the globe have been pointing out that coffee has benefits that far surpass its risks.

For example, the U.S. Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee reported earlier this year that coffee is also linked to reducing the risk of type II diabetes and heart disease, which are both leading causes of mortality in the States.

Bottom line, we once looked at coffee as a beverage that can both open our eyes and cause heartburn, but with more findings revealing the benefits of this drink, it’s soon to become the number one beverage in the world.
