It’s never easy to know for sure if you’re currently with the one. Especially if you are only in the early stages of your relationship.

There’s simply no surefire way to predict if the two of you will last and if the other person is indeed marriage material.

However, there are certain signs that can give you a hint about whether you two are going in the right direction or not.

It doesn’t matter in which relationship stage you two are in, if you recognize at least two of the following 5 healthy-relationship signs, you might have found your significant otter. Ahem, other.

1. You Spend Leisure Time Together Doing Things You Both Enjoy

Of course, there will be times when you will have to resort to making compromises, but if you manage to find activities you both can enjoy, that means you have hit the jackpot.

This might take a while for certain couples, but don’t worry, you’ll get there. Music and movies are also rather important here. Remember: couples who like the same movies stay together.

2. You Fight, But You Fight Productively

When you’re in a healthy relationship, fighting is never about winning the argument – it’s about having productive fights that will take your relationship on a higher level.

If you have productive fights that end up being about:

  • understanding the other person,
  • finding common ground,
  • compromising,
  • and respecting the other person more,

it means you are both mature enough to have a promising relationship.

3. Even The Mundane Tasks Are Fun When You Do Them Together

This one doesn’t really require too much explaining. If you two have fun cleaning the apartment, going grocery shopping, cooking, etc… you are perfect for each other.

Even a chore-day is a fun day if you’re with the right person.

4. You Don’t Lose Self-Identity

You should love who you are and celebrate being you (without being a narcissistic A-hole of course), and your partner should be able to do the same.

Being in a healthy relationship means that you appreciate each other more for maintaining your self-identity. If you two constantly try to change each other, you might be doing something wrong. Bettering your partner is a good thing, don’t get us wrong, but a constant need to change someone is never a good sign.

5. You Laugh When You’re Together, All The Time

This one might just be the most crucial one of all. If the two of you have a similar sense of humor and manage to make one another laugh on a daily basis, cling to your girlfriend and for the love of god, never let her go.
