MTV VMA 2017: Ed Sheeran Wins ‘Artist of the Year’ Award Over Kendrick Lamar

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony was hosted by Katy Perry and it was a real roller coaster indeed, but in the end, there could only be one winner. Well, for this one particular award, that is – Artist Of The Year.

MTV VMA 2017 was, as usual, a star-studded event, but the man of the hour was certainly Ed Sheeran who won the biggest award of the night.

Sheeran managed to beat out Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, the Weeknd, Lorde, and Ariana Grande for Artist Of The Year, while he was also nominated for two other categories at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

His “Shape of You” video was nominated for Best Pop Video, while his “Castle on the Hill” video was running for Best Cinematography. Both songs are taken off his already famous album titled “÷”, which was released this March.
