In case you’ve been feeling down recently, here are some news that will show you that giving up isn’t an option. Our favorite Belgian martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme is returning to the “Kickboxer,” the same franchise that launched his career.

A report from THR suggests that the actor is in the final stages of negotiations to join the cast of the iconic “Kickboxer” remake.

His co-stars-to-be are Alain Moussi, Dave Bautista, and UFC champion Georges St-Pierre.

Only this time, the tables have turned. The apprentice becomes the master, as Van Damme takes the role of Master Chow. The part was originally played by Dennis Chan in the 1989 film.

Van Damme almost didn’t make the cut this time, but thanks to scheduling conflicts that Tony Jaa had, we are going to see “The Muscles from Brussels” return to the big screen.

The new movie will be produced by Ted Field, Dimitri Logothetis, and Nick Celozzi, while John Stockwell has the directing job. A release date is still unclear, but we know that shooting starts next week in New Orleans.
