British hunk and Hollywood A-lister Benedict Cumberbatch became a dad! The Sherlock star and one of the quintessential male figures in the world welcomed his first child, a baby boy, with his wife Sophie Hunter.

Baby Sherlock’s birth was announced by a spokesperson for the couple, in a statement which read that the couple is delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son, also asking for privacy: “We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.”

The joyous news came after he was named a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honors list, since he was recognized for his services o the performing arts and charity by the Queen herself.

This definitely makes 2015 a great year so far for the famed 38-year-old actor, who married his 37-year-old long-term love in a private ceremony in February.

Even though he missed out on winning the best actor Oscar this year, Cumberbatch doesn’t seem to care. And who would, with the arrival of a child and being honored by the Queen.

Apart from his role as Sherlock Holmes in the insanely popular TV show, co-starring Martin Freeman, Benedict is also known for his roles in huge blockbusters like Star Trek: Into The Darkness, The Imitation Game and 12 Years A Slave.
